The Books for Life team received a question:

We have the permission and freedom within our church to begin a new expression of church/congregation/community with a particular aim to disciple families particularly those with children/teens as whole families. We have a 'blank canvas' and need some pegs to hang our prayers and thinking and conversations to push the boundaries, not slip into something known but not necessarily "throw the baby out" - what is really church for us?

Hear are a few books that might help.

  1. How to get your kids through church without them hating God by Rob Parsons A great little book from Rob Parsons, filled with stories to help parents understand more about their responsibilities in helping children to grow to spiritual maturity.

  2. EPHESIANS The Bible Speaks Today by John Stott Classic John Stott commentary on the book of the Bible that must inform any of our thinking about church.

  3. Making Disciples in a Messy Church by Paul Moore A book exploring some of the challenges and opportunities for discipleship through the messy church phenomenon.

  4. Parenting Children for a life of Faith - Rachel Turner Get a new perspective on parenting .

  5. Whole Life Worship by Sam & Sarah Hargreaves A really helpful book exploring how our gathered worship forms and equips us for the rest of life.

Do you have a book dilemma you need help solving? Drop Books for Life a line and we will do our best to help.
